Once a year the community gathers under the redwood trees to celebrate art and the beauty that surrounds us.
Strolling through Old Mill Park among old growth redwoods we see art forms and visions we have never seen before. Our eyes and ears open to new art and ideas at every turn of the Festival - from the story tellers and puppeteers, to the main stage acts, to face painting, to the fine arts and crafts themselves.
Although the art comes from near and far, the Mill Valley Fall Arts Festival offers a warm, local, non-commercial experience and welcomes all ages and people.

The Curating Committee reviewed our expert artist recommendations and worked to select a diverse group of sustainable artists.
Each artist was asked to include a statement that explained how their work or their practice met the at least one of the following criteria:
Be created in a manner that helps to address climate change by fostering energy conservation, water conservation, waterway protection, stormwater management, tree preservation and protection, use of solar or wind energy, waste reduction, use of recycled or repurposed material, urban gardening, or other appropriate measures.
Address/reflect the Impacts of climate change, including: population displacement, glacial ice melt, ocean acidification, extreme weather, droughts, floods, wildfires, species loss, human health effects.

More than 260 award-winning artists from around the country and 30,000 patrons flock to the waterfront village of Sausalito, California, on Labor Day weekend for the annual Sausalito Art Festival. One of the oldest, most prestigious and most anticipated open-air art events in the country—the Sausalito Art Festival has set the standard for quality, variety, innovation and scope of artistry for more than 60 years.
Celebrated for its entertainment lineup, special exhibitions and cornucopia of food, beer and wine — the Festival transforms the charming seaside village of Sausalito, California into a three-day “Camelot” of art and community.
Artists are selected by a rigorous jury process and exhibit a range of work, including painting, sculpture, drawing, ceramics, glass, fiber and fashion, wood, photography, mixed media and more. The Festival is considered by artists, art collectors, and art fair fans to be a must-see event, and Sausalito itself has long been regarded as one of the world’s great artist communities and a community legendary for its excellent restaurants, shopping and access to breathtaking natural beauty and outdoor activities. Together, the Festival and community attract enthusiastic attention, top artists and international visitors to its waterfront location.
I am on the waiting list but hope to see you there!
